A whole new life...
While no counselor can guarantee any specific result, there are many possible changes that you can experience along the way.
Imagine this: you wake up in the morning calm and settled, anticipating what the day might bring. You feel like you can handle anything, no matter what might happen. You feel compassionate and loving towards yourself. You truly feel that you are enough as you are. You also believe and feel yourself to be enough for God, so you have a lightness about you and feel more spiritually connected. At the same time, you want to grow and become more of who you really are. You are no longer afraid of difficult emotions - you can let yourself feel things that are uncomfortable because you know that they will eventually pass. You can easily identify what you are feeling in a situation, and you feel confident expressing feelings to people in your life. You know your needs, as well as your limits, and you take them seriously. You act on them and aren't afraid to say "no." You trust your experience of other people and aren't too concerned about how they might be perceiving you at any given moment. You don't feel as much of a need to please everyone because you know that isn't a realistic goal. You know that you aren't perfect and that you will make mistakes, but those shortcomings no longer seem as threatening. You accept your weaknesses and celebrate your strengths. You feel good physically, because you have good exercise and eating habits. You also let yourself process emotions when they come up, so they no longer get stuck in your body as anxiety.
You think to yourself, I am finally really living.
You think to yourself how much different your life looks now.
You are no longer stuck in the downward spiral of never feeling like you are enough. Of negative self-talk. Of unhealthy and unsatisfying relationships. Of people-pleasing and ignoring your needs and preferences. Of feeling physically anxious and perpetually exhausted.
Of course, the old patterns still creep up here and there. But you can identify them when they come with your new understanding, and you can make different choices. You have to tools and the confidence to stay grounded now, so those things are mostly distant memories.
Can you imagine?
